can I completely remove it?
Published on May 12, 2006 By NightwingDragon In WindowBlinds
I have a question concerning the All Programs Mouse over. I've noticed in some of the newer per pixel skins it seems that somhow someone has figured out how to remove it. I've done some skins in the past where I basically used the "selected text" color to kind of fake remove it, but often times this also forces me to change other text and background colors so it's visible in other aspects of the skin. My question is, can I completely remove it? or is there a hover tool imag that I can use? I noticed it has a glyph image selection as well, would this work? I really appreciate all the help, thank you.

jesus christ man, it's a good thing I figured it out on my own. I'm just curious to know why I seem to be ignored everytime I post something. This is at least the 4th time I've had no response to any of my questions. Screw it I don't need the help, i'll figure it out on my own, thanks for nothing.

Hey NightwingDragon, sorry you got no help. I myself missed seeing this thread, if I had I would have let you know that All programs can be done using a image. Is this what you found out yourself.
on May 17, 2006
We don't work for you, NightwingDragon. "Jesus christ man," take a pill.

First off, thank you Cavan1, and yea I figured it out with an image. Secondly, Daiwa, no you don't work for me, but I dunno how many coountless threads I've seen wherin the ppl get help almost immediately. Now I'm not some jackass "demanding" help here. Mostly I honestly replied like that to see who would comment on someone whining about it. As far as help is concerned I'm just a tad angry bout watching literarlly dozens of ppl get the help they need at a rather expediant rate, my questions almost fall by the wayside. If you have beef over what I said, that's your problem not mine. I had a legit gripe and I mentioned it. I just figured I'd stir the pot since that's the only way I figured I'd get a response. So YOU take the pill, and if you have a complaint with my complaint, I guess that's too damn bad. I'm sick of bein' nice, and treated like crap or ignored for it, and i'm damn sick of getting overlooked, like I'm some diseased freak. Most of the probs I have I can figure out on my own with abit of intuition and knowledge over the apps I use, but this one was a pain. I waited 4 days for a response before I posted my snivel sheet. So maybe the next time you ask for help, and you're ignored you can think back on this, chew on it for abit, and realize I had an honest complaint. The days of me giving a rats keaster about this, or any other site are far gone. So if you're an admin who cares, ban me, do whatever helps you sleep at night. I dont need this or any other site to prove I can do something. As far as the rest of the people on this site, this rant is in no way shape or form directed to any of you. I appologize to you all for this, but I just wanted some damn help. Now let's see how many "angry people" I can stir up eh?
PS. Dont take any of this seriously I just wanted to see how pissed you'd be by the end of the post..... Take care all muwuhahahaha

So YOU take the pill

Ok..gimmie the thing..I'll take it..LoL
Speaking of which..I had better take the ones I am supposed to...keeps the world a warm and fuzzy place..LoL

I must say though, I am surprised at this type of reply..
We don't work for you, NightwingDragon. "Jesus christ man," take a pill.

is that the type of support we can expect?,
Very unprofessional to say the least...
I really hope that you dont work for Stardock Diawa..

I mean, if a customer who has purchased the products has a question about them, since user manuals and tutorials are almost non-existant, and gets absolutely no answer I think that customer may become a little frustrated, especially if that customer is working on a project that requires the answers in a timely fassion.

A little understanding may serve you well Diawa, especially in a cusotmer service position. At least Cavan had the presence of mind to understand what was going on and answered when he noticed the thread, and I dont think he does work for Stardock.

I dont know how they percieve things in your part of the world Diawa, but the business's here where I am Do work for the customer, it's part of doing Good Business

Anyway, thats my 2 cents,
Not that you care anyway,
Obviously you dont work for me either..LoL, Not that I care..
I am gonna go take that pill now..
Because I thought that was your best Idea in the thread!

Double & Nightwing:

No, I don't work for Stardock. And you're right, neither does Cavan.

Both of you need a little education. This is a user-to-user forum, hosted on Stardock's nickel for the specific purpose of enabling us to help each other with problems & issues. It is not a formal Stardock Customer Support vehicle. I've had many posts that failed to generate a reply - that simply means nobody with a similar issue saw them, or, if some such person did, they chose not to reply, either because they had no solution, or did but didn't have the time or inclination.

If this were Stardock's official Tech Support vehicle, you could justify bitching about being ignored & about lousy customer service if you so desired. However, you are not my customer, and berating me or any other readers here for "not meeting your needs" is not only uncalled for, it's not going to inspire anyone to help. None of us have a responsibility to solve anyone else's problems, only the desire to do so when we can. But acting like a spoiled brat with a serious self-image problem won't "make" me or anyone else know the solution to your WB issue.

"Take a pill" means adopt some common courtesy, since you both appear to need the translation.

My 2 cents right back at ya.

Daiwa and DZ...You are both right.

This is the Stardock Support channel, not a skinning support channel. Questions about skinning go better answered in other sections. Try that in the future and you will most likely get more assistance.

I admit that the section title "Stardock Support" might give one the wrong impression, particularly when there is a subsection titled "WindowBlinds." Might be better named P2P Support. Those of us who've been around for awhile "know" but it's not surprising new users might have different expectations. Common courtesy is not an unreasonable expectation, either way, however.
on May 19, 2006
For the record . . . Stardock support: stardock.helpserv.com or email support@stardock.com

They go to the same system and a case is created. You will get "different" support here than there. They'll work with their product, we'll work with almost anything.

Of course, if one is an ass, one will usually not get much of a response. This joint really is a community that accepts everyone at face value and treats them at face value.

well, first off I wasn't directing my gripe to anyone in particular til you stuck your nose in it, and in reality you're the one who "threw the first punch" All you had to say was, " sorry, can't help ya". You're the one who decided it would be cool to insult me. Further more don't insult my intelligence with little bullshit phrase meanings, we know what it means. If ya don't like getting put into the fire, maybe you should have stayed out in the first place.
I know what type of forum this is, which is exactly why I posted here in the first place. I also know ppl are busy as hell, and dont nescessarily have time to help, OR my problem might have been a new one or a doozy...hehehe.
As far as my quandry is concerned, I have 2 wba's that resolve that very issue, and so I figured it was becoming a popular enough feature to skin to generate a question.
In reality, I should have just asked NightTrain himself and avoided this completely, but I figured he'd be busy.
"defending" Stardock isn't gonna get you anywhere man, so figure that shit out and move on. Just as much as they are too busy creating/designing the next revolution in skinning software to help me, they are equally too busy to see your little half-witted defense.
The sad thing really, is under normal circumstances I AM a nice guy with his head on straight, and normally I'dve not even went off like I did, but plain and simple, ya pissed me off.
I'm not some little weak-minded suckup who just takes abuse. If I get shortchanged, the persons/ppl that did are damn well gonna know about it. If it results in a "handshake" and an appology, so beit. I have no probs admitting when I am wrong.
Just remember that you're the one who decided to open your mouth on this not me. You could have just as easily ignored the post, but'cha didn't. So if anyone "deserves" an appology that would be me, but neither do I expect one, nor do I want one.
If you want to call me a "smoking gun" that's fine, but just know that when the bullet is fired, make sure you're not in the way....lol.
If you wanna squash this whole thing, fine...I'll even reiterate my appology to the rest of SD's ppl. If you wanna keep this going, fine by me, just remember to duck.
That's my two cents back atcha with a two bits and a loaf of bread.
on May 19, 2006
Nighttrain I just wanna humbly appologize to you for all this crap, and let you know I really look up to your skinning ability. I would have asked you directly but I figured you'd be too busy. As far as the post, if I put this thing in the wrong section I'M A DUMBASS, and I appologize...lol. To be hones I wanted to somehow get in contact with you to see if you could help, but I let it go, and came here. I really admire your Ketrucel Black skin, and is in all honesty, the first skin made by someone else that has made it onto my system. Xcelent work. Funny thing tho, I didn't see your reply at first, but for some reason the anger just subsided after I saw it....hahaha. Take care man, and even if you can't help thanks.
on May 19, 2006
btw the previous "angry thread was directed towards only one person so please don't think it was for anyone else. This thread ended up here tho after seeing skinning questions, so I just hit the "create a new post" button, If I put it in the wrong section I'll go shoot myself and we'll call it even...lol.
PS. There's honestly no hard feelings here, if anything, I'm having fun...lol.
Yea I know...it's sick, but I havent been in a good argument in a while...hehehe.
I just figured y'all should know that. I'm not at all taking this argument seriously, I just dig the "catch as catch can" situation.
If need be, I'll behave tho, just say the word.
on May 19, 2006
I consider it done & no hard feelings, since I never had any - don't even know you. As for who "threw the first punch," if you had your problem figured out, why'd you come back & post a rag on us? And for the record, if I had any helpful insights on your original question, I would have offered them.

But you're right about one thing, Nightwing - if I see another post like that, I will ignore it.

Try here for help in the future. http://www.design.skinartistry.com/news.php
on May 19, 2006
And try here again, too. There are lots of people who may be able to help. Can't guarantee it, of course, but there are some very experienced skinners hanging out here who have been very generous with their assistance.
